One week

I have been home for one week officially! I am loving it! Another thing, I have less then a month until I head to Florida! For reals... my life is awesome!

Wednesday:
I am still amazed at the amount of love and service I got before I left Provo.  On the other hand, what could be better then leaving a snowy Utah for a sunny and semi warm California? Nothing.
Thursday:
Helllooo, California Burrito!
Friday:
I got all but one of my boxes left on my doorstep (that was fast!).  I spent the evening at Disneyland taking pictures with the Fam, then met up with cousin Ryan and got some sweet Disney paraphernalia with his discount.  It was my last trip to DisneyLAND for the foreseeable future.  But I'm not crying, DisneyWORLD is 27 days away!
Saturday:
My mom's side of the family came over and much food was eaten.  I made tartlets and gingerbread cupcakes (yummy!).
Sunday:
Singles Ward and leftover desserts. I'm going to gain twenty pounds by being home! Maybe I'll start running...
Monday:
I had to chaperon a 15 year old's Christmas Party.  There were 30 kids that showed up and stayed THE WHOLE TIME! Luckily my friend from high school and the Smiths came and helped keep me sane.
Tuesday:
I went to a christmas / white elephant party with a bunch of girls from high school who I haven't seen in years (some since grad night).  I mostly talked to the ones I've seen recently but still way fun!
Today:
We were supposed to go to Knott's today because we have free tickets, but all three of us girls woke up sick! I think Lucas gave us something... So instead we waited till Mom got off work then headed up to Redondo for the Floyd family Christmas Party.  It was lovely!
Tomorrow...
is Christmas Eve!!! Can you believe it? I sure can't. Supposedly we're going to Knott's since our tickets expire demain. Then we're having dinner at the Smith's. Then PJ's, then our new tradition of fort building. THEN IT'S CHRISTMAS!!!

Oh! Abridgment to my current life plan:
So the pastry school I want to go to is in Pasadena... Pasadena is full of REALLY wealthy people... Therefore, I will meet and fall madly in requited love with a wealthy {mormon} heir who will want to fund all my baking dreams!  Fool-proof plan. OK...maybe not, but it's keeping me going until I can get out to Florida and start meeting new people.

Plans (past and present)

I was thinking to start things off, I would give you a summary of my past goals/educational pursuits and what they currently are.  Here's an excerpt from Adventures that I wrote during the month of August:
I changed my major officially the week before school started! My new major is now Recreation Management Youth Leadership: Leisure Services Management with a Commercial Recreation emphasis. Yes, I have had four majors in my five semesters at BYU (IR, Economics, double majoring in French, and RMYL: LSM), and if you count the dropping out to go to Pastry School idea, I could be five for five.
If I remember correctly this is how my career goals evolved over all that time:
Ambassador to France --> work for the Foreign Services in the Economics department (French emphasis obviously) --> Economics professor --> Hospitality (eventually my own B&B)
NOW.... for my current plans
  • Go to Disney!
  • Go to Pastry School
  • Get my Bachelors degree
    • Start working on my BYU degree online once January 2012 comes around
    • Find another program that I can for sure finish
  • Become an accomplished Pastry Chef
  • Open my own Bed & Breakfast in my 30s
  • Get married and have lots of babies whenever Heavenly Father sees fit to throw that in (Granted, this is always part of the plan.  In fact, this is Plan A, everything else is always Plan B.)
Alright, if you're thinking "Wow, this girl is really unstable", then you would be correct.  However, I know my path has been [mostly] guided by the spirit.  I know I would not have friendships and certain experiences without all these changes.  Some people are lucky enough to find exactly what they want to do early on, most people search for a long time, I hope only a select few are as indecisive as I am.  But believe it or not, I'm grateful for my journey thus far.  I just hope its not very much longer :\

New Blog

So this blog is really to catalog the, apparently, very long process that is figuring out what I want in life.  Also, my Provo blog might become completely obsolete once I leave town in about 9 days.

Maybe I'll talk about my other adventures along the way...like Disney :)
